Basketball Recap: Nogales Comes Up Short

Nogales lost against Don Lugo back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Nogales Nobles fell to the Don Lugo Conquistadores 44-39. The Nobles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Don Lugo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Hodges, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Hodges a new career-high in assists (eight). Carolina Galarza was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Nogales' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Don Lugo, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nogales will take on Rowland in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Don Lugo and Garey will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
