Recap: La Quinta Aztecs vs. Estancia Eagles
The La Quinta Aztecs were the 35-33 winner over the Estancia Eagles when they last played one another back in November, but their luck changed this time around. La Quinta took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Estancia. La Quinta's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Several Aztecs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Nguyen, who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Mai, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
La Quinta has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Estancia, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
La Quinta and Marina will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Estancia will be home for the holidays to greet Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orange and Estancia are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
