Basketball Recap: Animo Bunche's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Animo Bunche got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They snuck past the Downtown Magnets Suns with a 24-18 victory on Thursday. The Stallions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Suns, too.

Rachael Lee and Alexa Antolin certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Lee posted seven points and ten steals, while Antolin had ten points along with six boards and four steals. Lee has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played.

With the win, Animo Bunche broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Downtown Magnets, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Animo Bunche will head out to face off against Aspire Ollin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Animo Bunche's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Aspire Ollin's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Downtown Magnets, they will venture away from home to challenge Central City Value at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
