Volleyball Recap: Monroe Central Starts Season with Win on the Road

Monroe Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Union City Indians on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Golden Bears not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 26, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Monroe Central walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17, 25-13.

Hadley Hendrickson paced Monroe Central's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hendrickson got some help from Bentley Pegg and her 24 assists. Hendrickson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Monroe Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Muncie Burris on the 21st. Union City has also already played their next matchup (against Northeastern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
