Basketball Recap: Gabrielino Drops Highest Score of Season Against Narbonne

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gabrielino). They snuck past the Narbonne Gauchos with a 47-43 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Leading Gabrielino to victory were Shannon Yan and Katelyn Chung. Yan posted 19 points, while Chung almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. Chung is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Yamashita, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Gabrielino's record now sits at 3-5. As for Narbonne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Gabrielino won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Warren at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Gabrielino has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Narbonne, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gardena at 4:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
