Hercules barely beat Richmond the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans put the hurt on the Oilers with a sharp 13-2 win on Wednesday. Considering the Titans have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hercules got a massive performance out of William Hobbs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The Titans are undefeated when Hobbs posts three or more hits, but 3-8-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Melgoza, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-1.
Hercules' record is now 6-8-2. As for Richmond, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Hercules will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Oilers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
