Soccer Game Preview: Western Christian vs. Spencer

The Western Christian Wolfpack will venture away from home to challenge the Spencer Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Western Christian came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against West Sioux, falling 4-0. Western Christian have struggled against West Sioux recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Spencer had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Tornadoes. The result was nothing new for Spencer, who have now won 12 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Spencer pushed their record up to 15-3-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those five contests. As for Western Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8-4.

Western Christian suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Spencer in their previous meeting back in May. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
