Fowler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Derek Luna.
McFarland lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Malachi Davis, who threw for 282 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 38 yards. Julian Barajas was Davis' top target, picking up 125 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The victory made it two in a row for Fowler and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points over those games. As for McFarland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Coming up, Fowler will square off against Caruthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
