Soccer Game Preview: Crosstown vs. Memphis East

The Crosstown Explorers will face off against the Memphis East Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Thursday, Crosstown got the win against Southwind by a conclusive 4-1.

Meanwhile, Memphis East made easy work of Memphis Business Academy on Tuesday and carried off a 9-1 victory. Given Memphis East's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Memphis Business Academy are ranked 170th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crosstown's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those four matchups. As for Memphis East, their win bumped their record up to 15-0.

Crosstown came up short against Memphis East in their previous matchup back in September, falling 2-0. Can the Explorers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
