Basketball Recap: Royal Takes a Loss

Royal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 31-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Park Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1093rd, while the Eagles are ranked 37th).

Royal's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Oak Park, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Royal won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Castaic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Royal is facing Castaic at the right time seeing as Castaic is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Oak Park has already played their next contest (against Camarillo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
