Softball Recap: Cor Jesu Academy Wins Going Away Against Parkway Central

Cor Jesu Academy never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Parkway Central Colts with a sharp 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Aubrey Grimm and Alice Vogel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Grimm tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Vogel pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grimm has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Grimm got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Vogel went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That home run marked the first that Grimm has launched this season.

In other batting news, Peyton Chambers was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lily Carter, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cor Jesu Academy's record now sits at 14-7-1. As for Parkway Central, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-6.

Cor Jesu Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkway Central, they will be playing at home against Oakville at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
