Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Dominion Christian

Dominion Christian lost to The Weber School last Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Dominion Christian Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past The Weber School Rams 6-4.

Skye Jackson and Gabe Buckner made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jackson struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Buckner tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. At the plate, Jackson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Buckner scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Buckner is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Canaan Bowen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Broughton Kelly also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Dominion Christian pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs over those games. As for The Weber School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Dominion Christian will square off against Loganville Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for The Weber School, they will take on The King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
