Recap: Don Lugo Conquistadores vs. Montclair Cavaliers
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Don Lugo Conquistadores ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 50-49 victory over Montclair. Winning may never get old, but Don Lugo sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Don Lugo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Magadan, who scored 21 points along with three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Magadan has scored at least 25% of Don Lugo's points. Another player making a difference was Makena Encarnacion, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Don Lugo's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Montclair, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Don Lugo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against West Covina at 5:00 p.m. on December 13th. West Covina has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 15. As for Montclair, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ontario at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
