Football Recap: Copley Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Copley kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost to the Streetsboro Rockets on the road by a 34-20 margin. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Rockets are ranked 128th).

Streetsboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcus Council, who rushed for 159 yards and one TD while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Those 159 rushing yards gave Council a new career-high. Janiere Cook was another key rusher, rushing for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Copley will face off against Firestone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Streetsboro, they will take on Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
