Christ the King is 1-7 against Pine Lake Prep since August of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Crusaders will host the Pride at 7:00 p.m. Pine Lake Prep took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Christ the King, who comes in off a win.
If Pine Lake Prep heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Christ the King took over last week. The Crusaders walked away with a 14-7 win over Lake Norman Charter on Friday.

Christ the King relied on the efforts of Brennen Wallace, who rushed for 116 yards and one score, and Carter Stevens, who rushed for 72 yards on only five carries. Those 116 rushing yards gave Wallace a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Christ the King was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Norman Charter only rushed for 100.
Meanwhile, Pine Lake Prep fell victim to Corvian Community and their airtight defense last Friday. They had to suffer through a 38-0 loss at the hands of the Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Cardinals are ranked 123rd).
Christ the King pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Pine Lake Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Christ the King has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.3 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Pine Lake Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 84 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Christ the King didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Pine Lake Prep in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 25-20 victory. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Pride have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
