Softball Game Preview: Seckman Jaguars vs. Oakville Tigers

The Seckman Jaguars are taking a road trip to square off against the Oakville Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Seckman has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Oakville will arrive with three straight wins.

Howell Central hit Seckman with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars came up short against the Spartans, falling 7-1.

Seckman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Bantle, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Oakville never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Parkway Central 1-0.

Oakville's win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Seckman, their loss dropped their record down to 12-16.

Seckman suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Oakville in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
