Softball Recap: West Laurens Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

West Laurens proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes 7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 on Wednesday.

West Laurens pushed their record up to 31-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe Area, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-11.
