Baseball Recap: Howard Comes Up Short

Howard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 26-8 to the Mary Persons Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 13-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

JAYDEN REESE made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Darius Brown, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Howard's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Mary Persons, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howard will take on Cross Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies are facing the Razorbacks at the right time seeing as the Razorbacks are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Mary Persons, they will venture away from home to square off against Upson-Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
