Softball Recap: Seckman Beats Lutheran South for Their Third Straight Win

Seckman entered their tilt with Lutheran South on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lancers an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Ella Martin's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Seckman got a big performance out of Hailey Kramer, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Kohlberg, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Seckman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Seckman's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Lutheran South, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seckman will take on Oakville at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lutheran South, they will venture away from home to take on St. Dominic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
