Soccer Recap: Petaluma Comes Up Short

If Petaluma was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Napa last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Petaluma Trojans came up short against the Casa Grande Gauchos on Monday, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Gauchos are ranked 134th).

Natalia Efhan and Adrienne Skye scored both of Petaluma's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Petaluma's loss dropped their record down to 8-5-3. As for Casa Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1-2.

Petaluma has already played their next game, an 11-0 win against American Canyon on the 4th. As for Casa Grande, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Sonoma Valley on the 6th.
