Woodward Academy waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They didn't even let the Shiloh Generals on the board, marking their second-straight 15-0 shutout. Give the War Eagles' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Shiloh's batters probably weren't too happy with Dominic Veneri, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up zero walks). Veneri has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Keeler Edwards and Khalon Davis did most of the damage at the plate: Edwards went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Davis scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave Edwards a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Walker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Woodward Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .464 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Woodward Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Shiloh, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
