Softball Game Preview: Mill Creek Hawks vs. Marist War Eagles

The Mill Creek Hawks will square off against the Marist War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mill Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Mill Creek faced off against Dacula on Tuesday. The Hawks took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bethany Sottnick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Marin White was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Marist never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Northview on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Titans. The result was nothing new for the War Eagles, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Marist is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Mill Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
