Redwood is 10-0 against Novato since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Redwood Giants will challenge the Novato Hornets at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Redwood has four straight wins, Novato has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Redwood's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Marin Catholic 1-0. Give the Giants' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Sarah Farese, who's now up to 14 this season.

Meanwhile, Novato came up short against San Rafael on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Redwood's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-3. As for Novato, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything went Redwood's way against Novato in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Redwood made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redwood since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
