Softball Recap: Savannah Drops Season-High Score on North Andrew

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Savannah). They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the North Andrew Cardinals on Tuesday. The Savages haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Brailyn Fox made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Macee Blythe and Addisen Koehler did most of the damage at the plate: Blythe went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Koehler went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Koehler has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Schaub, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Savannah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Savannah's record now sits at 6-4. As for North Andrew, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Savannah will challenge St. Pius X at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Andrew, they will take on Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
