Basketball Recap: Cambria Heights' Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Cambria Heights had won four straight games and Sienna Kirsch did her part to make it five on Monday. The Cambria Heights Highlanders really took it to the Ferndale Yellow Jackets for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-18 victory thanks in part to Kirsch, who almost dropped a triple-double on 37 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 27 games she's played dating back to last season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gracey Vinglish, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Cambria Heights has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Ferndale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Cambria Heights has already played their next contest, a 52-21 win against Northern Cambria on the 29th. As for Ferndale, they will square off against Johnstown Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Johnstown Christian's defense has only allowed 22.9 points per game this season, so Ferndale's offense will have their work cut out for them.
