League recap: Ihrig dominating on the mound for Douglas County

Douglas County's David Ihrig was the best pitcher in 3A-AAAAAA this week. He retired ten batters this week.

Newnan had a successful week, as it won three total games to lead the league. The Cougars beat Griffin 4-0.

The Tigers' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 16 hits and five walks, both of which led the league.

Douglas County's Ihrig led the league in strikeouts this week with ten. With 23 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.



Ihrig struck out ten in Cedartown's 6-1 win over the Tigers on March 12. Over five innings of work, he gave up eight hits and six runs.
