Softball Recap: Piedmont Academy Takes a Loss

Piedmont Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-0 to the Strong Rock Christian Patriots, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Piedmont Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Strong Rock Christian, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Piedmont Academy will challenge First Presbyterian Day at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Strong Rock Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Pinewood Christian at 2:00 p.m.
