Soccer Game Preview: Corona del Mar vs. Fountain Valley

The Corona del Mar Sea Kings will square off against the Fountain Valley Barons at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corona del Mar will be strutting in after a victory while Fountain Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Corona del Mar headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Marina let them put that streak behind them. Everything went Corona del Mar's way against Marina on Tuesday as Corona del Mar made off with a 5-1 win. The Sea Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Fountain Valley managed to keep up with Newport Harbor until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Fountain Valley came up short against Newport Harbor, falling 3-0. The Barons just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

The victory snapped Corona del Mar's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record. As for Fountain Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-3.

Corona del Mar came out on top in a nail-biter against Fountain Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Corona del Mar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fountain Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
