The Montrose Blue Jays will face off against the Dadeville Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Montrose is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Montrose's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Humansville 20-0. The win continues a trend for the Blue Jays in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

Kelsey Carter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Carter was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Montrose got a massive performance out of Lainee Swaters, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Swaters has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kristin Poole, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

Montrose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Dadeville came up short against Norwood on Friday and fell 7-2. The matchup marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Dadeville fell to 4-1. As for Montrose, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Montrose couldn't quite finish off Dadeville in their previous matchup two weeks ago and fell 3-1. Can the Blue Jays avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
