Basketball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Takes a Loss

Bishop Montgomery and Mater Dei squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Bishop Montgomery had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 76-40 loss at the hands of the Mater Dei Monarchs. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Monarchs: they've now lost four in a row.

Bishop Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Mater Dei, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season.

Bishop Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will square off against Etiwanda at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Etiwanda knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 games -- so hopefully Mater Dei likes a good challenge.
