Baseball Recap: Phoenix Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Phoenix nor Hidden Valley made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Pirates lost 7-0 to the Mustangs. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Phoenix saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caidon Darcy, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Hidden Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

While Phoenix had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
