Soccer Recap: Lake County Starts Season with Loss at Home

Lake County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Mead Mavericks on Friday, falling 9-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lake County of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Looking ahead, Lake County will square off against Englewood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Lake County's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Mead, they are taking a road trip to take on Gunnison at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
