Softball Game Preview: Bryan Bears vs. Lincoln Northeast Rockets

Bryan hasn't had much luck against Lincoln Northeast recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bears will head out to take on the Rockets at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bryan's offense. They came up short against Bellevue West on Tuesday, falling 17-0.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Northeast lost 12-2 to Pius X on Saturday. The Rockets have struggled against the Thunderbolts recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Dezi Swenson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Lincoln Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-20.

Lincoln Northeast's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Bryan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lincoln Northeast, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will Bryan keep running through batters, or will the Rockets buck the trend?

Bryan suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Lincoln Northeast in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
