Ludlowe faced Trumbull in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 14-8 win. The Falcons not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24th (when they won 11-0).

Ludlowe's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Trumbull, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ludlowe will host Bridgeport Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.07 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Trumbull, they will challenge Westhill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
