Menendez is 8-2 against Interlachen since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Rams at 6:30 p.m. Menendez is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Menendez beat Bolles 10-5.
Ava Christman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Menendez got a massive performance out of Rylan Degrande, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Degrande has posted since back in March. Emily Tobuck was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Menendez hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Belleview hit Interlachen with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams lost 10-2 to the Rattlers. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Interlachen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Interlachen's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Menendez, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Interlachen's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Menendez has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Interlachen, though, as they've been averaging only 2.6 strikeouts. Will Menendez keep running through batters, or will the Rams buck the trend?
Everything went Menendez's way against Interlachen when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Menendez made off with an 18-8 win. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
