Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Zion Eagles vs. Bowdon Red Devils

Mt. Zion is 2-8 against Bowdon since March of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mt. Zion's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Manchester as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bowdon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over Trion on Friday.

Bowdon pushed their record up to 8-15 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Zion, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Mt. Zion skirted past Bowdon 4-3 in their previous meeting last Thursday. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
