            Softball Recap: Slater Wildcats vs. Carrollton Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            Carrollton hit Slater with a seven-run fifth inning  on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost  15-5 to the Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the  19-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2024.
  Emerson Meyer was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-2 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Karlee Bellemy, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
Slater's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 4-5. As for Carrollton, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record  this season.
 Slater will welcome Northeast  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Carrollton, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Lexington  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 6.1  runs per game this season.
