Cabell Midland is a perfect 3-0 against Morgantown since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Cabell Midland easily dispatched South Charleston on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Cabell Midland fell just short of Hurricane by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Morgantown and Wheeling Park, and Wheeling Park kept the tradition alive. Morgantown fell just short of Wheeling Park by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Mohigans' defeat didn't just snap their winning streak: it also ended the team's undefeated season.

Morgantown saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vincent Aloi, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Aloi a new career-high. Eli Boggs was another, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Aloi wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Morgantown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Morgantown fell to 2-1. As for Cabell Midland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Cabell Midland took their victory against Morgantown when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Will Cabell Midland repeat their success, or does Morgantown has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
