Softball Game Preview: Ankeny Centennial Jaguars vs. Valley Tigers

The Ankeny Centennial Jaguars will head out to face off against the Valley Tigers on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ankeny Centennial comes in on six and Valley on five.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Ankeny Centennial and Urbandale meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Jaguars came out on top against the J-Hawks by a score of 10-6.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Valley and Waukee, and Valley kept the tradition alive. The Tigers walked away with a 4-1 win over the Warriors on Tuesday.

Ankeny Centennial's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 34-11.

Ankeny Centennial came out on top in a nail-biter against Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 8-6. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
