Preview: Brookville Raiders vs. Johnsonburg Rams
Brookville has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Johnsonburg Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Brookville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
After only 24 points in their last contest, Brookville made sure to put some points up on the board against Union. Brookville breezed by Union on the road to the tune of 57-30. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Brookville has managed all season.
Eden Wonderling continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 14 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerstyn Davie, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Johnsonburg had to suffer through a rough 64-25 loss at the hands of St. Marys. Johnsonburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.
Johnsonburg's defeat came about despite a quality game from Zoey Grunthaner, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Brookville's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Johnsonburg, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Brookville have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 31.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Johnsonburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 17.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Brookville against Johnsonburg in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 as the squad secured a 63-20 victory. Will Brookville repeat their success, or does Johnsonburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
