Basketball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hoover can now relate to. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tulare Western Mustangs. The Patriots have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Tulare Western had a senior duo take command as Alexa Bello posted 22 points along with eight boards and four steals and Miranda Nevarez had 12 points. Bello is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Tulare Western, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tulare Western, they will take on Lompoc at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
