Football Recap: Marcus Cummings Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Paul

Yates Center was handed a 46-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the St. Paul Indians 30-28. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 34-26 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Yates Center's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Cummings, who rushed for 184 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Gavin Busteed, who rushed for 85 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Yates Center was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
