Recap: Sotomayor Wolves vs. Torres Toros

If the Sotomayor Wolves were riding high off their 40-10 takedown of the Elizabeth Bulldogs last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sotomayor fell 37-26 to Torres on Friday. Sotomayor was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Torres apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 12th.

Hailey Deniz and Angie Mendoza certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Deniz scored 12 points, while Mendoza scored 12 points.

Sotomayor has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Torres, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Sotomayor will be playing in front of their home fans against Maywood Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Maywood Academy has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29. As for Torres, they will head out on the road to square off against Maywood CES at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Maywood CES will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
