Softball Recap: Milford Eagles vs. Blue River

Milford had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 11-14 to make it five. They fell 5-0 to Blue River. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Milford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maeli Kubicek, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

As for Blue River, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

On Blue River's side, the result came thanks to Abby Lindsley's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 13 Ks. Lindsley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ashlyn Long was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Danica Watts was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As of now, neither Milford nor Blue River have any future games scheduled.
