Basketball Recap: Maritime Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Maritime Academy Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 45-21 to the Parkway West HOYAS.

Kemba Brown went supernova for Parkway West, putting up 24 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Parkway West's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaahirah Shabazz, who posted ten points.

Maritime Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Parkway West, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Maritime Academy Charter will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on High School of the Future at 3:15 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Parkway West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkway West is facing Thomas A. Edison at the right time seeing as Thomas A. Edison is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
