Basketball Recap: North Salinas Comes Up Short

North Salinas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 51-31 to the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

North Salinas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Monte Vista Christian, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-10.

North Salinas and Monte Vista Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. North Salinas (ranked 1159th) will meet Palma (ranked 526th) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Monte Vista Christian will face off against Stevenson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday down 527 places (827 vs. 300).
