Softball Recap: Denmark Comes Up Short

Denmark extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 11-6. They fell 6-1 to the Lambert Longhorns. Surprisingly, this marked Denmark's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Lambert, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Lambert's part, Reagan Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Young has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Olivia Cantarutti was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Payton Yi was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

While Denmark had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
