Baseball Recap: Egg Harbor Township Comes Up Short

Egg Harbor Township lost to Hammonton back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 9, 2025.

Mike Baxter and Chase Battersby did some serious damage despite the final result: Baxter went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Battersby went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Egg Harbor Township is 6-1 when Baxter posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Finn Lamb, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Egg Harbor Township's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11. As for Hammonton, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.
