Baseball Recap: Model Comes Up Short

Model has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.29 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Pepperell Dragons. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Model has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-3 record this season. As for Pepperell, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Model will head out to challenge Heard County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.41 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pepperell, they will face off against Trion at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
