Basketball Recap: Tolsia Comes Up Short

After flying high against Man last Wednesday, Tolsia came back down to earth. The Tolsia Rebels received a blow on Friday as they fell 65-47 to the Mingo Central Miners. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

It was another big night for Addie Smith, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc to rack up 27 points and five steals for Mingo Central. Mingo Central is 6-1 when Smith posts five or more steals, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was DaLaney Grimmett, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 18 points and seven boards.

Tolsia's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Mingo Central, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Tolsia will challenge Grace Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mingo Central, they have already played their next matchup, a 64-51 win against Phelps on the 8th.
